I am currently suspending support for Substance, Flamingo, Trident and related plugins / demo projects. I do not have any plans to delete any downloadable binaries, change the licensing terms or delete the projects themselves, or to allow others to take ownership of the original projects. Demnach setzt er ja nur den Support aus. Vielleicht entwickelt er ja in der Zwischenzeit noch weiter an den Projekten. Alles in allem finde ich die Meldung halb so schlimm.
Vielleicht hat es aber auch damit zu tun, daß Herr Grouchnikov bei Google arbeitet.
Und damit, daß Google dieses Jahr nicht bei der JavaOne dabei sein kann (um nicht weitere „Beweise“ für den Prozeß zu liefern), bzw. nicht dabei sein will (Android ist doch total offen, deswegen nutzen wir einfach das Java-Universum umsonst; nettes Zitat zur Situation:

Keine Ahnung wer „Recht“ hat. Es wäre einfach nur sehr schade, wenn jetzt alle Google-Mitarbeiter ihre Java-Projekte, die Google nicht direkt zu Geld machen kann, einstellen…
